If you're asking, “Where can I sell my mountain or gravel bike in Reno?” Gear Hut has 7 seasons of experience in re-homing your outdoor gear! Whether you’re downsizing your collection, upgrading your ride or buying your first bike, we’ve got you covered.

What do we accept on consignment?
Mountain & Gravel Bikes (sorry! no commuters, road bikes, or BMX)
Bikepacking packs and frames
Mountain biking jerseys, pads, and shoes
Pedals, pumps, and brand-new tires/tubes
Trailers and bike racks
How Does Gear Hut Price Bikes?
We begin our research process by using the Bicycle Blue Book to determine a bike's value, then adjust the price based on demand, condition, size, and any special features (such as dropper posts or 29" wheels). However! It's a hard truth to accept, but it's important to keep in mind that while bikes were in high demand during the pandemic, their value has since dropped—just like cars, they depreciate quickly... Our goal is to sell your bike within 90 days and have inventory turnover. If our starting price point does not match your goals, try Craigslist or Marketplace for a week or two and you can always revisit selling though us later in the season if you don't get bites. (NOTE: bikes will sell BEST when brought in between April-early July! Do NOT wait til the end of summer!)

How Much Can You Expect to Earn?
We offer a 60% payout for bikes priced between ($150-$400) and a 70% payout for bikes priced over $400. Don’t forget—your portion of the sale goes even further when you choose to use your payout as store credit! NOTE: We are a consignment shop. We do NOT buy outright! You get paid once your bike sells. (This model is less risky for us, and makes you more than if we bought outright. It also reduces sketchy sellers/stolen goods).
Here’s the breakdown:
Items under $50: us 60/40 you split (most apparel, shoes and small gear)
Items between $50-$150: us 50/50 you split (bike bags, racks)
Items between $151-$400: us 40/60 you split (trailers, racks, entry bikes)
Items over $400: us 30/70 you split (higher quality, in demand bikes)
Important Things to Know:
Bikes must be ready to ride. We’re looking for bikes in great condition since our customers want something they can hop on and enjoy right away. Tires must be inflated, breaks must work, gears must shift smoothly.
If your bike needs repairs (or is NOT a mountain or gravel bike), consider donating it to local organizations like Reno Bike Project or Kiwanis.

Ready to sell your bike? Give us a call at 775-219-4612 or email us info@hearhutreno.com to make sure we have space for your bike before you drop it off.
