March Non-Profit of the Month
Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation is our newest non-profit! They have been doing great things to better Reno's experiences with our local parks. From hosting outdoor camps for kids, to restoring parks and local wetlands, to creating a trails challenge to encourage locals to get out and enjoy our local parks.
Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation is a private, 501 (c) (3) nonprofit based in Reno, Nevada. Since 2013, the staff and AmeriCorps members have provided the community with educational in-park programs and events that create awareness, appreciation, and stewardship in the over 200 parks of Reno, Sparks, and Washoe County. Our programs and events promote the Healthy Parks, Healthy People: Truckee Meadows initiative. We lead interpretive guided-hikes and walks that teach people about the local biodiversity and history of our parks, provide students from low-income families with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) curriculum in and outside of the classroom, and host community events like our Healthy Parks Healthy People 5K Fun Run & Walk.
You can join TMPF on a guided hike on the 30th of March as they explore Washoe Lake State Park. We'll also be donating 10% of our sales on March 31st to TMPF. So happy to be working with these guys. Check them out!
