Friends of Nevada Wilderness is going to start the year off as our Non-Profit of the Month. On January 26th, we will donate 10% of the daily sales to Friends of Nevada Wilderness. So make sure to support your local wilderness advocacy group.
"Friends of Nevada Wilderness has been successful in protecting over 3 million acres of Nevada wilderness. Getting wilderness designated is the first step toward long-term protection of these special areas but it's not enough. Our wild lands need help to heal from past uses and abuses." Their website says it perfectly. If you treasure peace and quiet in the outdoors, if you treasure wild spaces for wild animals, and if you treasure saving land for the future generations, then consider donating to Friends of Nevada Wilderness. Right now, we are giving away their calendars with a $10 donation.
And for those interested, Friends of Nevada Wilderness are helping to organize a "Leave No Trace Training" event later this month. Head over to the Galena Creek Visitor Center on Saturday, January 26th, from 10am to 2pm to learn more responsible ways to enjoy the outdoors without leaving a mark behind.
