The Sierra Club Great Basin Group is our latest non-profit of the month!
"Our Great Basin Group motto is "We Get You Outdoors" Although we cover the high desert of the Great Basin, our outings also visit the northern Sierra Nevada and places farther. With so many wonderful places to hike and explore nearby, it's no wonder that our group has one of the most active outings schedules in the Sierra Club. Our program has attracted many people to become outings leaders who have then introduced thousands to beautiful places around us. In between our enjoyment of the outdoors, we advocate for conservation measures to protect the natural resources in our area and promote the use of our abundant, renewable geothermal and solar energy sources in Nevada." Additionally, the Sierra Club Great Basin Group supports getting kids outdoors with a special fund and they advocate for conservation and environmental issues in our area.
You can join the Sierra Club Great Basin Group on a guided hikes through their group on Meetup. We'll also be donating 10% of our sales on April 28th to Sierra Club Great Basin Group. Gear Hut is beyond excited and proud to be working with this organization. Check them out and support them by shopping local! Remember, if your goal is to clean out the garage, and you're not looking to make some extra cash, you can donate your items at Gear Hut to be sold under our non-profits!
