In 2023 we set out with the goal of hiking 52 local trails, one a week. And we challenged you guys to join us along the way!
💪 We started out really strong! Every month, I published a blog post here with four recommended hikes of the month… we had weekly stories and reels featuring different parks and trails.
😵 But at the end of the March I broke my pelvis… Once I recovered, we had a couple trips out of town, I was working three jobs and in all honesty, Rusty messed up his knee and had surgery… and in all honesty, motivation just died off.
📸 Looking back through my photos of the year, we TECHNICALLY went to a park each week, but it was often more for the playground than for a hike. And while we could claim success, I know that this doesn’t count towards the goal.
🤩 But just because we failed, doesn’t mean that we didn’t inspire some of you! We are CHEERING ON two of our community members, Juliette and Gabriella who both CRUSHED the #52RenoHikes challenge, getting out weekly to take on the trail! As a "reward", we're gifting them each $52 Gear Hut gift cards to replace those boots!
